Hook/Before:
The teacher will begin by opening the PowerPoint to the first slide. The teacher will then dim the lights and turn on the candle. The teacher will read the obituary to sea turtles. When done, turn on the lights and discuss with students how the obituary made them feel and what it would mean to lose all sea turtles.

Closure/Evaluation/After:
Close the lesson by reviewing the TPE chart. Ask students if any of their thoughts on endangered marine life where correct/incorrect. Ask students if any of their questions were answered and if they have different questions. Discuss what further learning they would like to have and how they would explore that learning.
